Accelerating Our Customers’ Cloud Native Journey: Why I Joined Aqua

I’m very excited to join Aqua Security as its Chief Customer Officer, leading the customer success, consulting, customer support and education teams, and helping our customers maximize the value from Aqua’s solutions. Joining from Microsoft, where I led the Azure Cloud and AI services in the AMS, one might ask – why would you leave and take this step?

After all, I had the opportunity to work at one of the largest tech companies in the world, take part and lead the cloud revolution from a front-row seat. Sometimes you need to be in that front-row seat to identify a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Aqua is exactly that!

Why I’m Excited to Join Aqua

I’ve known the Aqua co-founders Dror and Amir for quite a while and have been following the company since its inception. Over the past few years, I’ve been impressed by Aqua’s clear vision, technology edge, and how quickly it has grown to become a successful global unicorn, boasting many of the world’s largest enterprises as its customers. Today, Aqua has emerged as an established market leader in a very hot cloud native security space.

I see Aqua as being at a nexus that represents a unique opportunity to revolutionize enterprise security as we’ve known it. Here’s why:

The Best Position for Success

Aqua operates in a space that represents a huge, game-changing shift in the industry. Cloud adoption is skyrocketing, as digital transformation is driving fundamental change across every industry you can imagine, redefining how organizations compete and engage with customers. By allowing organizations to quickly build, deliver and run new apps, cloud native technologies are instrumental in this journey.

Coming from the public cloud domain, I’ve experienced this first-hand. Enterprise organizations are rapidly migrating workloads to the public cloud, moving to containers, Kubernetes and serverless, going multi and hybrid-cloud, implementing “shift left” and DevSecOps practices, and more. At every step of this journey, security needs to match the agility of the digital business, empowering developers and accelerating delivery pipelines rather than slowing their speed down.

With such a huge demand, the timing for growth couldn’t be better. Together, Aqua is best positioned to help every enterprise secure this new technology stack throughout the full application lifecycle. As customer deployments mature, Aqua is committed to accelerating their use of cloud native technologies to drive their business forward.

It’s a perfect storm for a hyper-growth startup, and if you have the option to take a seat on a rocket ship, you must take it!

Incredible Installed Base

Today, the Aqua platform protects hundreds of enterprise customers, embedding and automating security into their application pipelines. In a short period of time, the team has achieved tremendous growth and built an excellent customer base, including 20% of the Fortune 500 and five of the world’s ten largest banks. Aqua’s solutions are built for enterprise scale, allowing teams to securely scale with no limitations, across hundreds of deployments spanning thousands of nodes. For large organizations, relying on a trusted security solution that can seamlessly support this scale is paramount.

Domain Leader

Aqua is a technology leader in a fast growing and extremely important tech market that spans cloud and security. Aqua’s sole focus on cloud native allows it to constantly innovate and expand it’s technology advantage, invest in the open source community, and drive groundbreaking threat research through Team Nautilus, the world’s only research team entirely dedicated to cloud native security.

Considering all this, the market opportunity for Aqua is enormous, and the demand for security will only continue to grow as more organizations go cloud native to build modern applications. As the customer base grows, we’ll expand the team and continue to develop world-class customer engagement functions to support our customers’ journeys.

What Will I Focus on as CCO?

Customers have always been at the core of Aqua’s business. As the Chief Customer Officer, my top priorities will be to support the company’s growing customer base in maximizing the value they are gaining from Aqua’s solutions. This means providing best-in-class customer experience through growing top notch customer success, consulting services, educational programs, and technical support.

Aqua is committed to customer success and we will remain 100% focused on enabling our customers to protect their most business-critical applications and drive their digital transformation. We are not in this business to sell software and walk away – this fast-evolving market requires a high degree of involvement and reciprocation from a vendor like Aqua, something the company recognized long ago.

With its recent funding and aggressive plans for growth, we’re ready to do great things with our customers, and I’m here to meet and exceed customer expectations for excellence at every level of interaction with Aqua.
